Right now the biggest story of the 2010 World Cup is not who will be there but who will not. American fans are focused on Rio Ferdinand and Charlie Davies, but the rest of Africa is focused on Chelsea striker Didier Drogba. Although he has yet to be completely ruled out for the tournament due to a broken elbow, no single star means more to this tournament than Drogba. Continue reading
Today the US National Team finished its World Cup preparation with a 3-1 victory over fellow soccer (not football) nation Australia. The Americans dominated the run of play, largely due to the play of forwards Edson Buddle and Robbie Findley. Buddle scored twice, and Findley had at least two serious chances to score.
